At St. Tikhon’s University will host an evening in memory of Archimandrite Tavrion (Batozsky)

December 11, at 19.00, Historical, cultural and educational center of St. Tikhon’s University “Cathedral chamber” invites you to an evening in memory of Archimandrite Tavrion (Batozsky, +1978), Abbot of the Transfiguration monastery pustynki the Riga convent.

According to Archpriest Vladimir Vorobiev, Archimandrite Tavrion was a wonderful elder, the Confessor of the XX century. “For many years he spent in prisons, camps and exile. The last 10 years of his daily life he served in the skete of the Transfiguration near the town of Jelgava (70 km from Riga). To him
pilgrims came from all over the Soviet Union with questions and requests for blessing. Possessing the gift of clairvoyance, father Tavrion taught people to build their lives according to the will of God. In difficult times, when our Church called the “Church of silence”, Father Tavrion was not afraid to boldly preach, took the youth, he drew many people to the path of the Christian life”.

The meeting will be attended by the Bishop of Orekhovo-Zuevo Panteleimon, Archpriest Dmitry Smirnov, Archpriest Vladimir Vorobyev, Archpriest Vladimir Wingert and others.
