Bishop Nestor of Korsun took part in the solemn glorification of the Cathedral of the ancient saints of Spain and Portugal

    

7 October 2018 in the parish of the assumption of the blessed virgin Mary in Zaragoza (Romanian Orthodox Church) divine Liturgy, a solemn glorification of the Church in Spain and Portugal brightened, reports the website of the Korsun diocese.

    

The decision on the Iberian glorification of the saints was made by the Assembly of Orthodox bishops of Spain and Portugal on 20 April 2018. The basis was adopted Menology, compiled by Archpriest Andrei Kordochkin, rector of the Church of Mary Magdalene in Madrid. In a calendar includes more than 200 names of ancient saints. The celebration will take place annually on the Sunday prior to 12 October – celebration of the blessed virgin of Pilar is the national holiday of Spain.

The divine Liturgy was led by the Western European and Mediterranean Metropolitan Joseph (Romanian Orthodox Church), which was concelebrated by Bishop Nestor of Korsun, Bishop of Spanish and Portuguese Timothy (Romanian Orthodox Church) and Archpriest Andrei Kordochkin and clergy of the local diocese of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

    

At the end of the Liturgy Bishop Nestor addressed the congregation with the word in which he stressed the supranational character of the Church of Christ.
