July 21, 2018, to celebrate the appearance of the icon of the blessed virgin Mary in the city of Kazan (1579), in the capital of Tatarstan held a prayer ceremony which was the Annunciation Cathedral of the Kazan Kremlin, the press service of the Kazan diocese.
The divine Liturgy in the main Church of the Kazan diocese was headed by Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Theophanes, Metropolitan of Izhevsk and Udmurtia Quizzes, bishops Krasnoslobodsky and Temnikov Clement, Almetyevsk and Bugulma Methodius, Chistopol and Nizhnekamsk Parmen, Volzhskiy and sernurskiy Theophanes.
The head of Tatarstan Metropolia celebrated the all-night vigil at the Kazan mother of God male monastery.
During the Liturgy, the archpastors were assisted by the Secretary of the Kazan diocesan administration Archpriest Vladimir Samoilenko, Vice-rector of Kazan theological Seminary of the Abbot Euthymius (of Moses), rector, St. John the Baptist monastery, Archimandrite Nektarios (Demin), the Governor of the kazansko-Bogoroditsky man’s monastery Abbot mark (Vilnius), rector of the Kizichesky Vvedensky monastery hegumen Pimen (Evanciew), father superior of Raifa Bogoroditsky monastery, the hegumen Gabriel (Plzen), the deans of the member districts of the Kazan diocese, the abbots of the temples of the capital of Tatarstan.
The service was attended by: Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Andrey Ivanov, Deputy head of the presidential administration of the Republic of Tatarstan — head of the Expert Department of the President of Tatarstan Igor Savelyev; the head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tatarstan, Lieutenant-General Pavel Nikolaev and other officials.
Praying at the service were mother superior of the assumption Zilantova of the convent, hegumenia Sergia (Lakatos), monastics of the diocese of Kazan, the students of Casts, many believers — parishioners of the Kazan temples and pilgrims from the Russian regions.
In the organization of the festive services was assisted by representatives of local Cossacks and the Orthodox youth.
Chants of the Liturgy was performed by the Episcopal men’s choir under the direction of Denis Rogov.
Out after the communion verse the sermon was delivered by the Dean I of the Kazan district Archpriest Alexy Chubakov.
After the dismissal of many thousands began the procession with the revered ancient list of the Kazan icon of the Mother of God. The prayer procession was held from the Annunciation Cathedral of the Kazan Kremlin to the place of finding of the miraculous image, past the entrance to the metro station “Kremlin” to Bauman streets (along Millennium Square), Baturin, Karl Marx, mislavskogo, Big red.
On arrival in Kazan bogoroditskiy monastery next to the reconstructed Cathedral of the Kazan icon of the Theotokos sang a prayer to the Queen of Heaven.
The head of Tatarstan Metropolia addressed the congregation with an archpastoral homily.
In conclusion, the prayer celebrations, the monks in Holy orders made the singing of the akathist before the Kazan icon of the Mother of God. Believers venerated the wonder-working list of the Queen of Heaven.
