Meet Sr. Joyce Ann Mendoza...

I was called Sr. Mary Timothy until Vatican II, 1963, when I changed back to my baptismal name.

I was born in Orange, Texas. My parents were from Louisiana -- Cajun Country -- Jeanerette and Thibodoux, LA.

Education: High School at Orange, Stark High School; Bachelor of Science in University of Houston; Masters in Business Administration in Notre Dame, Indiana; Masters in Religious Education in St. Thomas University, Houston.

Teaching Experience: Incarnate Word Academy for 12 years teaching Business subjects and English, Bishop Byrne High in Port Arthur, and Marian High for 3 years for Secondary Education; and in Port Arthur, Beaumont, La Grange, Hitchcock and Baytown for Elementary Education.

Memorable Experience: Sabbatical in Santa Fe, New Mexico at Sangre de Cristo which was sponsored by the Christian Brothers.

   My favorite Scripture passage is...

"I am the Vine and you are the branches.
He who lives in Me and I in him will produce abundantly,
for apart from Me, you can do nothing."
                                                                  John 15:5
