George W. Bush at a farewell ceremony with his father: “he was always sustained by the love of the Almighty”

December 5 In the Washington National Cathedral held for the 41st U.S. President George H. W. Bush. He died at the age of 94 years, a few months after his wife. At the farewell ceremony, his son George Bush Jr. described his father’s life as an example of “how to grow with dignity, humor and kindness, finally, when the Lord called to him how to meet It with courage and with joy.” The funeral was attended by US politicians, including five U.S. presidents, as well as former and current world leaders.

During his speech, George W. Bush listed several facts about the life of his father, with gratitude for his example.

1. “He was a sensitive man, he valued character over pedigree, and he was not a cynic. He was looking for the good in every person, and it usually is found”.

2. “Dad taught us that public service is noble and necessary. It can serve as honest and true to important values such as faith and family.”

3. “My father was a “quiet faith” and “he was sustained by the love of the Almighty” during the trial, including the death of his three year old daughter Robin in 1953″.

Bush recalled that he had talked to dad on the phone for a few minutes before his death, telling him: “I love you and was a wonderful father,” to which the father replied, “I love you too.”

“And in our grief I just smile, knowing that dad is hugging Robin again and holds a hand mom”, he concluded.

Bush gave one of the four praises in the service. The other three were given by the former Prime Minister of Canada Brian Mulroney; former US Senator Alan Simpson from Wyoming and historian John Meacham, who wrote a biography of the late President.

“George Herbert Walker Bush was the last great statesman of America. The father of the 20th century. It was ruled by virtues, which most resemble the interests of Washington and Adams, TR and FDR, Truman and Eisenhower, ” said Meacham.

“He believed that to whom much is given, much is expected and because life has given him so much, he again and again”.

President Donald trump and his wife Melania attended, and bill and Hillary Clinton, Barack and Michelle Obama and Jimmy and rose Carter. Also present were former Vice-presidents al Gore and dick Cheney.

In addition to numerous choral and instrumental music election, award-winning contemporary Christian music star Michael Smith performed her song “Friends”.

The Reverend John Russell. Levenson, Jr., a close friend of the Bush family and the rector of the Episcopal Church. Martin in Houston, gave the sermon at the funeral.

During his sermon, Levenson talked about being with George Bush at the last minute and with him and others to pray for him.

“It was a perfect end. It was a great start, he said. “For a moment but only a moment, this dear world, George Herbert Walker Bush is gone. But now it shines brighter than ever before.”
