His Beatitude Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa Feodor II after the rite of the great consecration of the Transfiguration Cathedral in Bolgrad 30 September 2018 said that he came to Ukraine to witness their love and the fact that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is a canonical Church in Ukraine, according to Information-enlightenment Department of the UOC.
“Here I have lived and shed tears for this country, — said the Patriarch of Alexandria. — I came here now to say that I am always with you”.
His Beatitude Theodoros II said that he will tell all the Patriarchs of local Orthodox Churches on the situation in Ukraine, that “I saw with my own eyes”, and added: “Also say to all the Patriarchs that the Church does not worship politicians. In the Church there is the Apostolic rule <…> a Canonical Church is guided by the canons. According to the canons of she lived, lives and will live.”
Turning to the assembled bishops and the faithful, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Alexandria wished them to remain faithful to the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
