On the morning of 17 December 2018 in the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra began an extraordinary session of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, reports the Information-enlightenment Department of the UOC.
The members of the Synod consider the issues related to the challenges today before the Church.
The meeting is chaired by the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church his Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine Onuphrius.
Before the meeting, the members of the Synod and representatives of the episcopate of the UOC attended the divine Liturgy in the Far caves of the monastery. The service was led by his Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry.
The permanent members of the Holy Synod are: Metropolitan of Odessa and Izmail Agafangel, Metropolitan Lazar of Simferopol and Crimea, Metropolitan of Khust and Vynohradiv mark, Metropolitan of Donetsk and Mariupol, Metropolitan Hilarion of Kamianets-Podilskyi and Gorodok Theodore, Metropolitan of Vyshgorod and Chernobyl Paul, Metropolitan Mitrofan of Lugansk and Alchevsk, Secretary of the Holy Synod, Chancellor of the UOC Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary.
