12 September 2018 in MIA “Russia today” in Moscow held a press-conference dedicated to the fifth season of the International children’s and youth literary contest named after Ivan Shmelev “Leto Gospodne” reports patriarhiei.
In press conference took part: Chairman of the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church Metropolitan Kliment of Kaluga and Borovsk; the winner of the Patriarchal literary prize poet Yury kublanovsky; chief editor of the magazine “Literature in school” Hope Krupina.
Metropolitan Kliment told reporters that the first of September has begun reception of works on competition “the year of the Lord”, which opened the fifth season. To participate in it invited students in grades 6-12: children can send in their novels, stories, essays, travel notes, diaries and other literary works. Among the thematic areas of this year — 1030-anniversary of the baptism of Rus, the 100th anniversary of the reestablishment of the Patriarchate, the 100th anniversary of the execution of the Royal family, the feat of new martyrs. The authors of the most creative works will be invited in Moscow to participate in the finals: it will be held next year in the spring holidays. For the finalists is traditionally prepared an interesting cultural program — acquaintance with the temples, monasteries and sights of the capital, meetings with famous writers. “The contest “Summer of the Lord” gives the child the opportunity to show their talent”, — said the Chairman of the Publishing Council.
Poet Yury kublanovsky has shared his experience to the jury. He said: for young generation it is important to remember that many works of Russian literature had a religious dimension, and gave advice to the contestants is to write from your heart, tell that you guys really care about.
Chief editor of the magazine “Literature in school” Hope Krupin said that the participants of the contest “Summer of the Lord” is often told in his writings about the life of the grandparents, about the heroism of people during the great Patriotic war and the Russian saints Sergius of Radonezh and Seraphim of Sarov, on the road to the temple.
At the press conference was also presented a collection of “sun gold”, which included the creative work of finalists of the contest “Summer of the Lord.”
