Marines took part in the procession in honor of the prophet Elijah in Moscow

    

The Marines, who on Thursday celebrate the 88th anniversary of the formation of airborne troops, during the feast day of Elijah on Ilyinke took part in a procession in Central Moscow, reports TASS.

After the morning Liturgy, military and veterans VDV with the icon of Elijah the Prophet under the chimes passed on Red square, where they held a prayer. “We admire your military feat, your kind attitude towards Russia and Russian Orthodox Church. With the professional holiday of paratroopers and congratulated the commander of the airborne troops Colonel-General Andrey Serdyukov. “Marines with dignity and honor solve all the tasks with courage and dedication, heroism, devotion to duty and military oath. Tens of thousands of soldiers, sergeants and officers were awarded orders and medals. During the festival Muscovites and guests of the capital were able to see demonstrations of the guards cadets of the Ryazan higher airborne command school, military Junior military Patriotic clubs, the cadet corps and the combined orchestra of the airborne forces. The holiday ended with a concert on Vasilevsky descent.
