Officials block participation of the faithful of the Church in a Great procession on July 27

The faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are trying to prevent to participate in the prayer service on Vladimir hill and the procession on 27 July in the capital, banning all carriers Ovruch district to go to this day, the route to Kiev. But on July 28, the organization of buses to participate in the celebrations of the “Kievan Patriarchate” is responsible for the local administration. Reported Information-enlightenment Department of the UOC.

“Yesterday-the day before we wanted to clarify whether everything will be fine, we all began to massively refuse — all carriers, all those who have their fleets, the owners of minibuses. Call the different reasons, — said in his comments, the educational Department of the UOC Archpriest Oleg Dominski, acting Narodichi deanery of the diocese of Victory, but privately say that the 27th to go on flights in the direction of Kiev forbade intelligence services.”

The priest said that in this way the authorities are trying to artificially create the appearance that the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church less than supporters of the “UOC-KP”.

“On 28 th instructed the administrations — they organize buses, forcibly collected funds from businessmen, all officials will necessarily be put in a bus and drive to Filaret. All this in order to show it on television that the “Kiev Patriarchate” supposedly support more Ukrainians,” — said Archpriest Oleg.

Information about the active use of administrative resources for promoting events, “the Kiev Patriarchate” in the Day of the baptism of Russia is confirmed in all regions of Ukraine.

Metropolitan Zaporozhye and Melitopol Luke 16 July 2018 sent a letter to the officials of Zaporizhzhya regional state administration: “we have received complaints from clergy and parishioners, stating that you are not versed in the subject matter, blatantly under the guise of the name of the head of Zaporizhzhya regional state administration, in order to bend to some to undermine the power of individuals, forcing businesses to pay for buses to send to Kiev and participation in the events held on 28 July “UOC-KP”. Moreover, in order to fill the buses with people, you “gently” suggest their subordinates to attend events of this “religious” structure, alluding to the fact that they are obliged to do part of their job descriptions”.

Archbishop of Sumy and Akhtyrka Evlogy (Gutchenko) shared similar information. “On the orders “from above” Sumy regional state administration organizes vehicles and transportation of people to Kyiv in the so-called procession of the so-called UOC-KP, – wrote on his Facebook page, Bishop. – Provide guidance to the heads of districts and village councils to organize people for this event”.

In the comments to his post, social network users reported that in other cities of Ukraine, the same thing happens: Ternopil, Cherkasy region, Kherson…

This development was predictable, according to the publicist Alexander Ermolenko.

“In recent years, the Kyiv Patriarchate has exposed himself to ridicule. On the Day of Baptism of Russia to Cross the course of the UOC were tens of thousands of people, and of the UOC-KP is only a few thousand. This living picture every time debunked the statements of speakers of the Kyiv Patriarchate, where they were trying to prove, that the flock of the UOC-KP is quantitatively greater than the congregation of the UOC twice. So it would be this year, but politics intervened. The government can not lose face in the dirt in front of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, which had been repeatedly brought the information that the Kyiv Patriarchate has millions of believers. So now the task is – by any hook or by crook – to provide the number of marches supporters of the UOC-KP. Orders flew not only in the Zaporozhye area. Administrative resources have connected all over Ukraine”.

To use or not to use administrative resources for popularizing the events of the “Kiev Patriarchate” by those who do.

However, preventing believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to participate in the celebrations on the Day of Baptism of Russia is a direct violation of their constitutional rights.
