Athos monks and Ukrainian pilgrims
Orthodox from Ukraine brought the icon as a gift Athonite kellia of St. Thomas, where there are bhikkhus of the brotherhood Famed.
Pilgrims from Ukraine gave the brotherhood Famed on Athos with an icon of venerable Seraphim of Sarov. It is reported BF “the Orthodox heritage of Ukraine at the Holy Mount Athos”.
The icon is made of amber especially for the monks of the Athonite cell of the Apostle Thomas, who is especially venerated St. Seraphim of Sarov.
“We must thank the all-Holy God that in our retreat and the Apostle Thomas on little Saint Anna on mount Athos arrived, the Holy icon of St. Seraphim of Sarov, brought as a gift dear to our heart fellow pilgrims from Kiev who frequent our humble abode, – said the elder Philip. – Now Seraphim is the patron Saint of our cells, because it is truly a universal Saint.”
According to a member of the pilgrimage group Gennady Grave, the icon of St. Seraphim of Sarov, should become a testimony of friendship.
