Pope Francis believes that populists “creating psychosis” around the immigration issue. He said this in an interview with Reuters.
Francis noted that aging societies, such as Europe, threatens “the great demographic winter” and they need more immigrants.
“I believe that it is impossible to deny people who come. You have to accept them, help them, care for them, to accompany them, and then see where to place them, but throughout Europe,” he said.
The Pope praised Italy and Greece for their “courage and generosity” in the issue of migrant reception.
