Serbian Patriarch Irinej presented the head of Rossotrudnichestvo, the order of the Holy Empress Milica

Serbian Patriarch Irinej presented the head of Rossotrudnichestvo Eleonora Mitrofanova award of the Serbian Orthodox Church – the order of the Holy Empress Milica, reports TASS. The ceremony took place at a reception on Monday in honor of the Day of family, love and fidelity.

“Today I have the great honor to announce the awarding by the order of Empress Milica – Eleonora Mitrofanova. Thank you for the work on the decoration of the temple of Saint Sava, and most importantly for your contribution to the protection of Serbian culture while working in UNESCO. Thanks to you the Shrine of the Serbian people of Kosovo and Metohija in Serbia. Once again we Express gratitude and pledge that our nation will never forget,” said Patriarch Irinej, in presenting the award.

In turn Mitrofanova thanked “for the high evaluation of the diplomatic efforts”. “It happened in 2015 was cohesive work of Russia and Serbia, then we managed to do almost the impossible – we gave Kosovo to join UNESCO and not allowed to turn the Serbian shrines in Kosovo. We firmly adhere to the resolution [UN security Council] 1244 according to which Kosovo is part of Serbia” – said the head of the Agency.

She further reiterated that Moscow would continue to cooperate in the completion and decoration of St. Sava temple in Belgrade. She then congratulated those present on the Day of family, love and fidelity and awarded family who have been married for over 25 years.
