With the blessing of his Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill, the Coordinating Committee for the promotion of social, educational, informational, cultural and other initiatives under the auspices of the Russian Orthodox Church announces the launch of the International open grant contest “Orthodox initiative 2018-2019,” according to patriarhiei.
Accepting applications for participation in the contest will be from 1 September 2018 on the website www.newpravkonkurs.ru. Completed acceptance of bids at 18.00 on 23 October this year. The winners will be announced no later than 1 March 2019.
The contest is governed by the regulations of the program “Orthodox initiative” and Notice of the announcement of the International open grant contest “Orthodox initiative 2018-2019”. The competition applications are considered in the following areas:
- Education and training;
- Social service;
- Culture;
- Information activities.
In the framework of the direction “Social service” retains a special nomination “Shelters for pregnant women”. The amount of grant support for the nomination may reach a million rubles. The grant funds can only be directed at the creation of a new help center and support the first year of operation.
The competition for each of the project areas remains a special nomination “Small towns and villages” with the amount of grant support of up to 300 thousand rubles. Nomination “Small towns and villages” aims to support initiatives applicants from small towns and villages, as well as applicants, regardless of their place of registration, if they provided the projects will be implemented in small towns and villages. It should increase the starting capability of the applicants from small towns and villages (especially not having experience of participation in grant competitions). Applications in this category are examined in a special manner.
In the competition there are three types of projects — local, network, and infrastructure/backbone projects. Local projects are implemented by one organization in one or several constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The winners can count on a grant in the amount of 600 thousand rubles. Network projects are being implemented in at least two subjects of the Russian Federation two or more organizations. Requested grant amount may not exceed 1 million rubles.
The contest, including technical support of tender procedures, * the organization of examination of the applications received, funding the winners, receiving and inspection reports, is vested in the Foundation in support of humanitarian and educational initiatives “Cooperation”.
