The Belarusian Orthodox Church protested the actions of Constantinople in Ukraine

    

The Synod of the Belarusian Orthodox Church to protest the appointment of Exarch of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, the capital of Ukraine, informs a portal “Orthodox life”. This is stated in a special statement of the Holy Synod of the BOC dated September 11, 2018.

In Minsk believe that the act Fanara “is an aggressive intervention by one Local Church in the internal Affairs of another Local Church aimed at undermining the foundations of the inter-Orthodox peace and unity”.

Metropolitan Onufry – canonical Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to the archpastors, clergy and faithful of the UOC of the Belarusian Church expresses her full support.

The clergy and flock of the Belarusian Exarchate of the Synod urges to pray zealously pray for the speedy overcoming of the current in Ukraine the situation of the admonition and repentance of those who provoke disorder and ecclesiastical schism.

The Address Of The Synod Of The Belarusian Orthodox Church

In connection with the manifested anticanonically intervention Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople in the internal Affairs of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Synod of the Belarusian Orthodox Church decided:

1. Unanimously to support the position of his Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill and the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church expressed in the official Statement dated September 8, 2018, in connection with the appointment of two bishops of the Patriarchate of Constantinople – Archbishop Daniel and Pamphylian Bishop Ilarion of Edmonton – “Exarch” of the Patriarchate of Constantinople in Kiev.

2. To protest against the acts of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, because it represents the aggressive intervention of one Local Church in the internal Affairs of another Local Church aimed at undermining the foundations of the inter-Orthodox peace and unity.

3. To call the clergy and flock of the Belarusian Exarchate to offer ardent prayers to the Lord for a speedy healing and dealing with the current situation of the admonition and repentance of those who provoke disorder and ecclesiastical schism, and the welfare of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the establishment of peace in the Ukrainian land.

4. To Express full support to his Beatitude Metropolitan of Kiev and all Ukraine Onufry – canonical Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to the archpastors, clergy and pious laity, the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

5. To indicate the indissoluble spiritual unity of the Orthodox Christians of the fraternal peoples of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine, the children of the Russian Orthodox Church, containing its care of historical Rus, spiritually born in the baptismal font of Kiev.

6. Hope in God’s help in the peaceful settlement of this difficult situation in order to preserve the unity of the world Orthodoxy.
