The Church can be used for political patterns, – the Hierarch of the UOC


On the occasion of the parish feast day Bishop Victor brought a gift of Belissimo Church icon of the Holy Martyr Vladimir, Metropolitan of Kiev and Galicia

The canonical Orthodox Church of Ukraine are trying to discredit all the false ways – said in Minsk Bishop Baryshevsky Victor.

September 12, vicar of the Kyiv Metropolis Bishop Baryshevsky Victor took part in celebrations on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the consecration of the temple-monument in honor of the Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky at Military cemetery in Minsk. The festive divine Liturgy was led by Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Pavel, who was assisted by the Archbishop of Bialystok and Gdansk Jacob (Polish Orthodox Church), Bishop of Slutsk and Salihorsk Anthony, vicar of the Kyiv Metropolis Bishop Baryshevsky Victor, managing Director of the Belarusian Exarchate Archimandrite Sergius (Brich), rector of the Church Archpriest Nikolai Korzhich, Secretary of the Kyiv diocese in Kyiv Archpriest Victor Ivashchuk, clergy and guests of Minsk diocese.

After the service, the representative of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church handed over to Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Pavel fraternal greetings and wishes all the best on behalf of the Primate of the UOC his Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry.

In his speech, Lord Victor, in particular, noted: “I take this opportunity to ask prayers of Your Eminence, dear lords and all of you, beloved in the Lord fathers, brothers and sisters, for the suffering of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Today our Church is experiencing one of the most difficult times since the Declaration of Ukraine’s independence. The only canonical Orthodox Church of Ukraine are trying to discredit all the false ways, oblivious to the fact that the Church cannot adjust to political patterns, because It is led by no man, but the Great God who founded It upon the earth.”

In response, the Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavsky Paul said, “We should pray for his Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine Onuphrius, our brothers and sisters in Ukraine. You are today at the forefront! May God by the prayers of all the saints is guarded by all of you!” On the occasion of the parish feast day Bishop Victor brought a gift to the Church an icon of priest-Martyr Vladimir, Metropolitan of Kiev and Galicia.

As reported by PWC, informed the Synod of the Belarusian Orthodox Church expressed protest against the actions of the Church of Constantinople in Ukraine and stated that the decisions of the Constantinople Patriarchate aimed at undermining the foundations of the inter-Orthodox peace.
