The Ministry of culture of Ukraine checks the shrines located in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra

    

At the initiative of the Ministry of culture of Ukraine established a special Commission which structure included employees of the Ministry and the National Museum of “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra”. The purpose of the Commission is to check the existing Church property and shrines, which were referred to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra since 1988 — since the opening of the monastery after the revival. The Abbot of the monastery the Metropolitan Vyshgorodsky and Chernobyl Paul discussed with Committee members the procedure for checking the existence of values.

On the first day of advent, the members of the Commission began the checking of the relics in the Near and Far caves of the Lavra.

The work of the Commission takes place under the supervision of the monks, the guards of the caves and members of the Spiritual Council of the monastery.

At the request of the Abbot of the monastery, Metropolitan Paul, a review of the altar of the premises of the Lavra churches are men because women are forbidden to be in the Church altar.

This is the first time in 30 year history of the revived the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
