The Orthodox symbol of St. Petersburg was St. Isaac’s Cathedral

  

The results of the public online vote held on the website храм78.of the Russian Federation on 18 November, an Orthodox symbol of St. Petersburg was chosen as the Cathedral of St. Isaac of Dalmatia “ISAAC”, the website of the project.

Everyone could vote for one of the 12 temples-finalists, using any device with access to the Internet. Under the terms of the voting it could participate all those who love St. Petersburg and its temples.

For St. Isaac’s Cathedral was given to 1486 votes. Just for churches-finalists were given 7693 votes. The vote was attended by residents of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region, Moscow, Krasnodar, Nizhny Novgorod region, Samara, Rostov, the Republic of Karelia, Krasnoyarsk Krai and other regions of Russia.

The organizing Committee of the project “Temple 78” includes: communications Sector St. Petersburg Metropolitanate, one of the largest operators of outdoor advertising in Russia, the company “POSTER” and communication Agency “Generation Brand & Communications”.

The project “temple of the 78” is the initiative for the choice of an Orthodox symbol of St. Petersburg. It was attended by 78 churches the diocese of St. Petersburg, with important religious, historical and cultural value, which was the architectural dominant of the city.

The project was conducted in two stages.

Stage 1 from 20 August to 10 October: a creative competition in four categories: photography, painting, video, literary work (prose and poetry). During the first stage everyone loaded it to the project their creative work inspired by one of the 78 churches. Within the framework of the contest on the website were downloaded more than 5.5 thousand works.

From 10 to 18 October was summed up. The jury of the creative contest became rector of the Academy of arts Semyon Mikhailovsky, the famous photographer Alexander Petrosyan, Director of the Imperial porcelain factory: Tatyana Tylevich, TV presenter, Director and documentary filmmaker Nika Strizhak and other famous St. Petersburg. They chose four winners of the creative competition, one in each category. October 18, winners of the St. Petersburg House of journalists. It was announced 12 temples that received the highest number of creative works.

For 2 phase c 18 Oct to 18 Nov 12 temples-finalists were the heroes of an active information campaign in mass media, social media, on posters urban visual advertising. Everyone could go to the pages of these temples on the project website, study them, get acquainted with creative works, loaded in their favour, and to choose.

November 18 from 8:00 to 19:59 on the website храм78.Russia held a popular vote, which was selected informal Orthodox symbol of St. Petersburg.
