At the Phanar, in preparation for the granting of autocephaly of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine, raised their exarchs to Kiev.

The Patriarchate of Constantinople appointed its Exarch in Kyiv. On September 7 reported on the official page in Facebook of the Patriarchate of Constantinople.

“In preparation for the granting of autocephaly of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine, the Ecumenical Patriarchate appointed as his Exarch in Kyiv, His grace Archbishop Daniel Pamphylian from the United States and His grace Bishop Hilarion of Edmonton Canada, both of which serve the Ukrainian Orthodox faithful in their countries, the Ecumenical Patriarchate”, – stated in the message.

Earlier in Istanbul, the Council of bishops (Synaxis) of the Church of Constantinople, which discussed the issue of Ukrainian autocephaly.
