The procession of the diocese of Vinnytsia went to Pochaev Lavra

The pilgrims began their journey after the prayer service at the Holy Trinity convent Brailovsky.

On 19 August, the day of the Transfiguration, several thousand pilgrims from the diocese of Vinnytsia went in procession to the Pochaev Lavra, the website of the diocese of Vinnytsia.

At Holy Trinity convent Brailovsky held a service for the blessing of Czestochowa that must overcome distance to Pochaev during the week.

The prayer procession is headed by Archimandrite Joasaph (Kawecki). According to him, this year from Braila went about 2,000 pilgrims. Some of them will return home after the first day of the procession, and the rest will continue. Among them are not only believers in Vinnytsia region, but also residents of Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky and other regions. Archimandrite Joasaph also spoke about the feat of a blind man named Nicholas, who once again is going to go all the way to Pochaev. His example is an inspiration to all the other participants of the procession.

Was the 17th consecutive year, the faithful from Braila go to Pochaev, to celebrate together with pilgrims from all over Ukraine patronal feast of the Pochaev monastery of the Dormition of the blessed virgin.

Processions heading to the celebration in Pochaiv, are taking place in other dioceses. As reported by the SPM, more than 20 000 pilgrims go in procession from Kamenetz-Podolsk in the Pochaev monastery.
