The project “Sanctuary Russia” continues to win audience

    

The TV show “Sanctuary Russia”, which are held in the framework of the homonymous project of the Federal tourism Agency and the Public Council under Federal Agency for tourism with the support of the Patriarchal Council for culture, continues to conquer the audience.

On TV channel “Spas” has already published 4 issues of the project on the Pskov, Tver, Leningrad and Moscow regions. They looked at the order of 2 million people, of which a quarter falls on Moscow and three quarters of the inhabitants of the regions of Russia, the Federal tourism Agency.

In a series about the Shrines of the Moscow region, which aired on October 28, viewers were presented route “Shrine of undivided Christianity”, authored by Miguel Palacio.

The idea behind this route is to to present important temples, chapels and monasteries named after Christian saints, i.e., who lived before the division of Christianity into Orthodox and Catholic branches in 1054, and the storage location of the relics and revered icons of these saints.

According to the Head of the Federal tourism Agency Oleg Safonov, the promotion of tourism products, based on visits to sites associated with Christian saints, particularly among foreign citizens who will contribute to the growth of the popularity of pilgrimages and educational trips to Russia and increase of the tourist flow.

The project “Shrines of Russia” aimed at attracting attention of Russian and foreign tourists situated on the territory of Russia the monuments of religious culture and sites of spiritual heritage, popularization of the Russian Federation as an interesting and attractive travel destinations and educational pilgrimage for Russians and foreign visitors.

In the framework of the project in order to promote tourist routes in Orthodox monasteries and other places of worship by the Federal Agency for tourism together with public Orthodox channel “Spas” in June 2018 was the start of the filming of the eponymous TV show “Shrines of Russia”.

The plot is built in the format of a pilgrimage tour of the film and theater actor Anton Makarsky and his wife Victoria Makarska by car in the regions of Russia. Leading the project tell the viewers about the Orthodox Holy places, tourist characteristics of the areas on which they are located, transport and accommodation, the monastery and traditional local cuisine.

The project involves 14 regions of the Russian Federation: Vladimir, Vologodskaya, Kaluga, Kostroma, Leningrad, Moscow, Novgorod, Pskov, Nizhny Novgorod, Tver, Yaroslavl region, St. Petersburg, Moscow and Republic of Karelia.

Each region devoted to a single series, with a duration of 52 minutes. Videos are also posted on the site YouTube and social networks. The premiere of the first of the series was held October 6, 2018, then the airing of the TV show “Shrines of Russia” on TV channel “SPAS” are scheduled weekly on Sundays at 20:30.
