Fanar may grant autocephaly only in their canonical structures within their actual canonical territory, says Archpriest Igor Prekup.

The establishment of the Patriarchate of Constantinople on the territory of Ukraine of their exarchates is a predatory invasion that unites ethnic Orthodox Christians from different Church structures price of a split in the structure of the UOC, the unity of which is carried out by territorial-canonical principle. “The Patriarchate of Constantinople can grant autocephaly only its canonical structures, respectively, within its current canonical territory (regardless of the fact that it was composed centuries ago), and even then, only in coordination with the other Autocephalous churches, because no KP any special rights, but the status of the arbitrator”, – said the priest.

According to him, “the establishment of the Patriarchate of Constantinople on the territory of Ukraine of their exarchates is a predatory incursion, which unites ethnic Orthodox Christians from different Church structures price of a split in the structure of the UOC-MP, the unity of which is carried out by territorial-canonical principle.”

As reported by szh, earlier in the DECR of the UOC said that the appointment of Panaram exarchs Pamphylian Archbishop Daniel of USA and Bishop Hilarion of Edmonton Canada in Kiev is a gross violation of canonical territory of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

The Patriarchate of Constantinople “in preparation for the granting of autocephaly of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine” announced that it has appointed its Exarch in Kyiv Archbishop Pamphylian Daniel from the USA and Bishop Hilarion of Edmonton Canada. In the ROC said that these actions Fanara will not remain unanswered.
