The Synodal Department for Church charity and social service of the Moscow Patriarchy has developed a special search engine that will allow anyone to easily and quickly find the nearest Church rehabilitation center, reports RIA Novosti with reference to the Synodal Department.
“The service is convenient for the dependent and their families who are looking for where to turn for help. This catalogue is also of interest to anyone interested in the system of Church aid to drug addicts: the Orthodox and secular professionals working with addicts, and representatives of state, municipal authorities and public organizations, journalists,” — said the head of the coordination centre of the Synodal Department for combating drug addiction, the Chairman of the Board of the charitable Fund John of Kronstadt Bishop Kamensky and Alapaevsk Methodius, wrote the gospel.
Search engine posted on the website of Church aid to drug addicts protivnarko.ru. On the right side of the website there is a button “Network addiction” — by clicking it, the visitor gets into a search engine and information directory. Here you can define your criteria to find the organizations that help drug addicts — at a certain stage of Church rehabilitation in selected diocese or in a particular region.
“Just based on today — information on 78-for-profit organizations and their 240 units of the Church system assistance to drug users in Russia. Summary clearly structured, contain narrative, photos, and contacts”, — stated in a press release.
For example, the search engine will help build a list of Orthodox counselling centres for drug addicts across Russia: today in the database 64. Rehabilitation centers and 79 outpatient programs — 14, support groups for addicts and their loved ones — 60, preparatory motivational centers — 7 centers – – 16.
You can make a selection of certain structures of assistance to drug addicts in each Federal district, region, metropolis or diocese.
The directory, created with the support of Fund for presidential grants, will be updated with new organizations and structures of addicted. Every year in Russia opened at least 10 new projects of Church aid to drug addicts, added in the Synodal Department.
