Getting Thomas is not critical for ordinary believers, said Olena Bondarenko.
The Tomos of autocephaly in Ukraine – it is solely a political issue, said the ex-Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Olena Bondarenko in an interview with Glasnosti.
“They (the believers of Ukraine – note. ed.) this Tomos is not necessary, – said the former MP. – Went to their Church, and will walk. It is solely a political issue when politicians with dirty hands trying to use the Church to solve their problems.”
Thus, according to Bondarenko, the authorities deliberately increased the pressure on the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
“The canonical Church – the spiritual one of the last bastions of the nation, – said Bondarenko. The Institute, which is opposed to the Satanism of the current government. Now the government would also like to use as an anti-Russian battering RAM. After all, with the UOC-KP all – dokey”.
According to the former MP, the prospects of obtaining Thomas more discussed, and in Ukraine, Filaret already there are calls to take away the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra and Pochaev Lavra of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
“And, considering the fact that according to the Constitution, the secular power has no right to intermeddle in the Affairs of the Church, emerges absolutely anti-constitutional collusion of the CP and President Poroshenko against the largest religious denomination in the country and against the Basic Law”, – concluded the politician.
Previously vicar of the Kyiv metropolis Archbishop boyar Theodosius called an unprecedented attempt to interfere in the religious life of the society on the part of Ukrainian politicians.
In mid-April, Poroshenko appealed to the Constantinople Patriarch Bartholomew to grant the Tomos of autocephaly of the Church in Ukraine and announced the creation of a Single Local Church. The Verkhovna Rada supported the President.
