During the service, Metropolitan Paul proclaimed a prayer for peace in Ukraine.
Annually in day of memory of St. Demetrius the Metropolitan Paul travels to C. Borbyn to celebrate the divine Liturgy in the temple and to perform a pannikhida at the grave of his father.
On 8 November the head of the Synodal Commission for monasteries of the UOC, vicar of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Metropolitan Vyshgorodsky and Chernobyl Pavel divine services in the Church of the assumption of the blessed virgin in the village of Borbyn Malinovskogo district of Rivne region, reported on the website of the monastery.
The Archbishop concelebrated with Metropolitan Varfolomiy of Rivne and Ostroh, Archbishop buchansky Panteleimon, Bishop Dionysius (Konstantinov), Dubna, the Bishop Pimen, the Dean of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Archimandrite Anthony, as well as local clergy.
After the gospel reading to the worshipers with a sermon, Bishop Pimen, who spoke about the life and heroism of the Holy great Martyr Demetrius the myrrh-gusher.
“We Christians must remember that the one who stands for the truth and the truth that is already free, and even if it is necessary for this truth to suffer, then such a person is suffering rejoicing! said Bishop Pimen. – Today there came a time when the truth and the truth you need to witness before the world of evil, when the truth and the truth only we must serve, and their jealousy show through unity with the Holy Church and the people who lead us to the Kingdom of God. Let us affirm the truth will stand for it until the end and learn to cultivate in their hearts a true, Holy, triumphant love, because this is our vocation: confessing the truth, to be worthy children of Christ!”
During the service, Metropolitan Paul proclaimed a prayer for peace in Ukraine. Were also lifted up an ardent prayer for the repose of the father of the Bishop – servant of God Demetrius. After the Liturgy, the vicar of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra thanked the concelebrating bishops and the brethren for prayer, congratulated the birthday and communicants, after which he called on all the worshipers God’s blessing.
