The head of the UOC-KP believes that the Laurel should go to the newly formed Ukrainian structure without violence, and the Church is called to reconcile the fraternal peoples.

The leader of the Kiev Patriarchate in an interview with “Voice of America” was assured that no permit violence against the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.

“Kiev-Pechersk Lavra is an architectural monument and is administered by the state, – said Filaret. – Whom the government will give, he will use this Holy Shrine”.

The leader of the dissenters also stated that everything will be done freely, without any violence.

“We will not allow this – because we have not property, and we need a human soul”, – said Filaret.

He also noted that the Church in the future must achieve reconciliation between Ukrainians and Russians, “because the Russian people and the Ukrainian people, the fraternal peoples”.

“Because the mission of the Church to reconcile. When we unite, we will not divide people into “us” and “our”. All will be ours, we will not allow division in the Church,” said Filaret.

Earlier, the head of the UOC-KP, Patriarch Filaret met with the acting Director of the reserve “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” by Alexander Mine and demanded that the Kyiv Patriarchate 19 building the monastery. He insisted that this be done in the near future.
