Gradually, due to historical circumstances, the chair of the Metropolitan of Kiev was moved to the city of Vladimir, and later to the new capital – Moscow. In 1448 the Church in Moscow became isolated from the Uniate at the time of Constantinople and later became the Moscow Patriarchate.
In 1458 the Patriarchate of Constantinople formed a new Metropolitan of Kiev center in Kiev. She also was a part of the Universal Church. In 1686 year, the Kiev Metropolitanate was transferred Panaram Moscow and joined the Moscow Patriarchate.
Thus, the Kiev Metropolitanate was never among the Autocephalous Orthodox Churches.
