A festive procession will be held in the Ural capital on the Day of St. Catherine

    

December 7, 2018, the Day of St. Catherine – patroness of the Ural capital, Yekaterinburg will host the traditional town gala procession, the press service of the Yekaterinburg diocese.

The prayer March will begin immediately after the hierarchal divine Liturgy, which will be held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral. The service will be headed by the Metropolitan of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye Kirill in concelebration with bishops of the dioceses of the Ekaterinburg Archdiocese.

At 11:30 (roughly) the procession will move from the Holy Trinity Cathedral through the streets to the chapel of St. Catherine in the area of Labor. It will be headed by the head of the Ekaterinburg Archdiocese, the most Reverend Kirill, Metropolitan of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye.

In the prayer procession will be attended by clergy, parishioners in the Archdiocese, the Cossacks of the Orenburg Cossack troops, the students of St. Simeon Orthodox gymnasiums and Sunday schools of the diocese, their parents and teachers, seminarians, students of the Missionary Institute, pupils of military-Patriotic clubs and associations, representatives of the youth movement of the Yekaterinburg diocese.

At the head of the procession through the city streets will be carried the icon of St. Catherine with a particle of her relics.
