Rostyslav Pavlenko, aimed at the meeting of the Synod of the Church of Constantinople, explained the procedural aspects related to the granting of the Tomos.
An official statement on the granting of the Tomos of autocephaly of Ukraine and on the date of the “unification Council” will appear on 29 November at the conclusion of the Synod of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. This was stated by the adviser of the President of Ukraine, Director of the National Institute for strategic studies Rostyslav Pavlenko Interfax.
“On Thursday, November 29, after the completion of the Synod will be the official message, and it will be the final point in this process”, – Pavlenko told journalists in Istanbul.
He also noted that at the meeting of the Synod 27 and 29 November, should be approved the text of the Tomos. Pavlenko explained that in accordance with the procedure should take place “unification Council”, which will be announced the creation in Ukraine of an independent Church.
“At this Council will be elected the Primate of this Church, and he will go to Istanbul in order to it (Tomos, – note. ed.) to,” – said the presidential adviser. He also added that the arrival of the Patriarch of Constantinople to Kiev “not provided”.
On the eve of Rostyslav Pavlenko met with Patriarch Bartholomew talking about “final steps to the granting of the Tomos of autocephaly”.
From 27 to 29 November in Istanbul is the meeting of the Synod of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, which will consider the text of the Tomos of autocephaly of the Ukrainian Church.
