An Orthodox priest from the U.S. who moved to Russia performed at the festival “Faith and word”

    

Monday, October 29, at the VIII International festival “Faith and word” was held a meeting with an Orthodox priest, Joseph Gleason, chief editor of “Russian Faith”, who, along with his wife and eight children moved to Rostov oblast of the Russian Federation from the United States, reports the Synodal Department for Church relations with society and the media.

O. Joseph Gleason said that he had left the United States because could no longer tolerate unfolding in the country wide propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations and promiscuity.

In his opinion, the trend in American law will soon lead to the fact that the government can deprive of the parental rights of those who show a negative attitude to untraditional sexual relations and raise their children in a conservative spirit. According to the priest, being Orthodox, it is impossible to be tolerant to gay marriage and to put up with modern American practices.

According to father Joseph, he created an English-language website of the “Russian Faith”, dedicated to the Orthodox Church and the Russian Orthodox Church, in particular in order to tell Americans the truth about the true faith and Russian culture. “To learn the truth about Russia, I helped the Russian faith,” he said.

As noted by the priest Joseph Gleason, in the United States spent large sums for political propaganda, for which reason ordinary Americans a very distorted view of Russia.

In conclusion, O. Joseph told the festival participants about their Ministry in Rostov the Great and his family life in Russia.
