1992
31 March — 5 April is the Council of bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church. In the course of the Council against Metropolitan Filaret of Kiev and other Ukrainian bishops bring charges of arbitrariness and pressure. Metropolitan Filaret before the cross and the gospel promises to resign as soon as a Cathedral of the UOC; he also promises to immediately hold a meeting of the Synod to restore to their departments illegally dismissed them bishops.
On April 7, during worship in the Kiev Vladimir Cathedral on the day of the feast of the Annunciation, Filaret said the refusal to lay down the duties of the Primate of the UOC, and April 14 said that his oath was forced, and therefore null and void.

June 11 is the Council of bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church, which, on the basis of the statements of the Ukrainian episcopate and the outcome of the proceedings, deprives of Metropolitan Filaret of the Church dignity and of all degrees of the priesthood.
25-26 June in Kiev held a Constituent Council, which created the so-called “Kiev Patriarchate” – structure, which refuse to recognize the other Local Orthodox Churches.
On 30 June , the delegation of UOC-KP visits Constantinople. Then on Ukrainian television to disseminate information about the possible recognition of the new Church by the Ecumenical Patriarch. Constantinople, however, refutes this assertion.
August 26, replying to a letter of Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Alexy II on the occasion of the deposition of Metropolitan of Kiev Filaret, Patriarch Bartholomew writes: “Our Holy Great Church of Christ, recognizing the exceptional completeness on this question of competence Your most Holy Russian Church, the Synod takes a decision on the above”.
1993
July. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew during his visit to the Russian Orthodox Church officially declares that it recognizes only one canonical Metropolitan of Kiev — Vladimir (Sabodan).
1997
18-23 February, the Council of bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church adopts the act of the excommunication of monk Philaret (Denisenko) from the Church for their hard separatist activities.
Patriarch Bartholomew in a letter to Patriarch Alexy II on 7 April 1997, reports on the recognition of this anathema: “after Receiving notice of the decision, we called it the hierarchy of our Ecumenical Patriarchate and asked for it in the future no ecclesiastical fellowship with the above-mentioned persons do not have.”
2010
May 31, Patriarch Bartholomew stressed that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate the only canonical Church in the country and urged the dissenters to return to it.
2015

2016
January 22 in the Swiss town of chambésy in the Meeting of primates of local Orthodox Churches, Patriarch Bartholomew welcomed the presence at the Meeting of his Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine Onuphrius, which, according to Patriarch Bartholomew, all Orthodox Churches recognize only the canonical first Hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

On 9 June published an appeal by people’s deputies of Ukraine by the Primate of the Church of Constantinople with a request for autocephaly.
2017
On 30 November the Council of bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church separately prescribes the ROC Statute is that the control center of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in Kiev.
2018
April 19, the Verkhovna Rada supported the President’s address to the Ecumenical Patriarch with a request to grant autocephaly.
July 28. Speaking at the ceremony 1030-anniversary of the Baptism of Rus, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, speaking about the UOC, said that “it is necessary to chop off all the tentacles, which in our state of the organism wielding aggressor country”.

31 August in Istanbul held a meeting of Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill with Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople.
September 7, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew appoint their bishops in Ukraine “in preparation for the granting of autocephaly”.
September 9, the adviser to the interior Minister Zoryan Shkiryak in a very rough form requires the UPC “get out of Ukraine”.
September 14 Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church adopts a statement which declares that “in connection with the illegal invasion of the Constantinople Patriarchate on the canonical territory of Russian Orthodox Church Moscow Patriarchate is forced to suspend prayerful remembrance of Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople at the service and with deep regret to suspend the concelebration with the hierarchs of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, and to terminate the participation of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Episcopal assemblies, as well as in theological dialogue, multilateral commissions and all other structures, where preside or co-chair representatives of the Patriarchate of Constantinople.
If you continue to anticanonically activities of the Patriarchate of Constantinople on the territory of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church we will be forced to break off the Eucharistic communion with the Patriarchate of Constantinople. The entire responsibility for the tragic consequences of this separation will fall personally on Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople and his fellow bishops.”
September 18, former Vice President of USA Joseph Biden, an active supporter of promoting “gay marriage” and abortion, previously awarded by the Patriarchate of Constantinople for the activities for the protection of human rights, the meeting with the leader of the “Kiev Patriarchate” Filaret noted, “the importance of the emergence in Ukraine of a single local Orthodox Church for approval of statehood.”
On 25 September the Synod adopts a resolution that the “Exarch” of the Patriarchate of Constantinople Pamphylian Archbishop Daniel and Bishop Ilarion of Edmonton needs to leave the canonical territory of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
26 September the US state Department expresses its support for the granting of autocephaly.
October 11 the Patriarchate of Constantinople, contrary to its earlier position, decided to cancel the anathema imposed on Filaret (Denysenko) and the head of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church (UAOC) Macarius. He also declares the recognition of the hierarchs of the UOC (KP) and UAOC in their canonical status and the restoration of Eucharistic communion with the parishioners of these churches. The resolution Fanara also says “on the recognition of the illegal annexation of the Kyivan Metropolitanate of the Constantinople Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church in 1686” and the abolition of the document, which the Patriarchate of Constantinople gave Moscow the right to ordain the metropolitans of Kiev.
On 12 October the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko calls the UOC “the fifth column of the neighboring state”.
Although Tomos has not yet been received, Poroshenko announces autocephaly: “the Orthodox World, as once wrote to His Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew, is a constellation of independent and equal national Churches. And finally in this constellation will Shine and our Ukrainian star”.
US Ambassador at large for international religious freedom Sam Brownback at a meeting with Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrei Parubiy expressed its support for the project autocephaly.
The US special envoy on Ukraine Kurt Volker States that “the United States supports Ukraine’s desire to have a single local Church.”

On 2 November , the representative of Constantinople, Archbishop job of Telmessos (Hecha) in an interview with the BBC Ukraine said that “the Moscow Patriarchate in Ukraine”, and insists on the right of Constantinople to withdraw if he deems it necessary, some of the autocephaly of the Patriarchates.
On 15 October , the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church found it impossible to continue to stay in communion with the Patriarchate of Constantinople.
18 October speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy paruby said that the UOC is “not a Church, and KGB sect,” and blames “gundyaevsky priests” kill “Ukrainian soldiers”.
October 19, U.S. Secretary of state Mike Pompeo expressed support for autocephaly.
On November 28 the Patriarchate of Constantinople decided to dissolve the Western European Exarchate of parishes of Russian tradition, withdrawing issued in 1999 Tomos.

4 Dec at the disposal of edition of “Apostrophe” is the project Charter novoobrazovany structure, which was prepared by the Patriarchate of Constantinople. Under this Statute, the new Church will be neither equal nor independent. It will be headed by the Metropolitan and not a Patriarch, it will be completely under the control of Constantinople, also stressed that it “cooperates with the state authorities in the framework of state and Church canonical laws.”
5 Dec clergy of the UOC called in for questioning in the SBU, accusing them of treason.
6 Dec the Patriarchate of Constantinople sends the hierarchs of the UOC of the invitation to the “unification Council” to be held on December 15.
7 Dec published a letter, allegedly 12 October was sent to Patriarch Bartholomew, Metropolitan Onufry. It in particular says: “Addressing You as “his Eminence, Metropolitan of Kiev”, in the form of oikonomia and mercy, we inform You that after the election of the Primate of the Ukrainian Church body, which would consist of clergy and laity, You will not be able ecclesiologically and canonically to wear the title of Metropolitan of Kiev that You still wear now in violation of the above conditions of the official documents of 1686″. Thus, Patriarch Bartholomew in plain text denies the canonical right of the Metropolitan Onuphrius, who was recognized recently.
The Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church declares that the Patriarch of Constantinople does not have the canonical right to convene any meeting on Ukraine.
