Rehabilitation center can accommodate up to 35 pupils. Today, there are free rehabilitation from drug and alcohol addiction 17 people from Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Khanty-Mansiysk and other cities. The two-storey building the students live in rooms for four people, here is a prayer room and a refectory. Patients of the center are working on a small farm. Future plans include the opening of the Yekaterinburg rehabilitation center for addicted women with children, as well as the center in Nizhny Tagil.
Prayer for the beginning of every good work for the Grand opening of the center was made by the head of the coordination centre for combating drug abuse of the Synodal Department for Church charity and social service, Bishop Kamensky and Alapaevsk Methodius.
“The new center will operate a comprehensive program of personal development on the basis of the Orthodox world, — said the head of the Department of the Ekaterinburg diocese on combating drug addiction Nikolai Bazhin. — It has a pedagogical approach, that is dependent teachers will work on the basics of the Orthodox faith, as well as a psychologist, to deal with psycho-correction, the development of communication skills”.
The rehabilitation programme at the centre consists of three stages: “come to himself” — to find the origins of their illness and ways of its overcoming; “come to God” and then “back to the people”, that is, to prepare to return to society. To help them in this will be two teachers and one psychologist, as well as consultants from the former addicts who got rid of the disease, said Nikolai Bazhin.
Today in Yekaterinburg, the center of medical-social rehabilitation “the Warrior”, two more rehabilitation center opened a charitable Fund “Nika” together with the diocese. Consultation rooms with the participation of the Church are open in Yekaterinburg and Revda in Sverdlovsk region.
