Bulgarian Church Synod considered the situation in Ukraine

After hearing the proposal of the Metropolitan of Plovdiv Nikolay and after a vote of SV. The Synod decided to provide a letter of Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill for the consideration of the Commission specially created at St. The Synod of the BOC BP on the issue connected with the Church schism in Ukraine.

FOR the proposal voted:

  • Patriarch neophyte of Bulgaria,
  • the Sliven Metropolitan Ioannikii,
  • the Veliko Tarnovo Metropolitan Grigoriy,
  • the Metropolitan of Plovdiv Nikolay,
  • Metropolitan Dorozenski Ambrose,
  • Metropolitan West and Tsentralnoevropejsky Anthony,
  • Nevrokopska Metropolitan Seraphim,
  • Metropolitan of Ruse Naum,
  • Metropolitan Cyprian and Strzegowski
  • the Metropolitan of Vratsa Gregory.

AGAINST this decision voted:

  • Metropolitan lovchanski Gabriel,
  • Metropolitan of Varna and Veliki Preslav John
  • Metropolitan Dometian of Vidin Daniel.

In connection with the same letter St. The Synod listened to the oral proposal of the Metropolitan Bishop Gavriil Luchanskogo the adoption of the following draft decision SV. Of the Synod, namely: “On the issue of granting autocephaly to the UOC SV. The Synod of the BOC BP considers it appropriate to convene Vsepravoslavnogo Cathedral, which would resolve this issue.”

FOR the offer of Metropolitan Gabriel voted:

  • Metropolitan lovchanski Gabriel,
  • Metropolitan of Varna and Veliki Preslav John
  • Metropolitan Dometian of Vidin Daniel.

Voted AGAINST:

  • Patriarch neophyte of Bulgaria,
  • the Sliven Metropolitan Ioannikii,
  • the Veliko Tarnovo Metropolitan Grigoriy,
  • the Metropolitan of Plovdiv Nikolay,
  • Metropolitan Dorozenski Ambrose,
  • Metropolitan of Western and Central European Antony,
  • Metropolitan of Ruse Naum,
  • Starozagorski Metropolitan Cyprian.

A dissenting opinion on this decision follow:

  • Metropolitan Seraphim and Nevrokopska
  • the Metropolitan of Vratsa Gregory.

After the vote, SV. The Synod did not accept the draft decision proposed by Metropolitan Gabriel.
