Ukrainian polar explorers will light candles at Christmas in the chapel at the Antarctic station “Akademik Vernadsky” for 15 thousand kilometers from Ukraine.
With the Christmas pudding, candles and carols will celebrate Christmas on the Ukrainian polar station”Akademik Vernadsky”, in Antarctica. They are 15 thousand kilometers from his native land. The closest neighbours American researchers from the station “Palmer” ( 52 km), and even near – a colony of penguins 850. But the celebration will be the most real in the Church – the Orthodox chapel of the Holy Prince Vladimir, erected and consecrated in 2011.
Earlier, Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanych), who visited the South pole, announced that “Antarctica is a place filled with life.”
