26 Nov 2018 in the Sergievsky hall of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow under the chairmanship of the Metropolitan of Krutitsy and Kolomna Yuvenaly took place the meeting of the Church-public Council under the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia to perpetuate the memory of the new martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church, according to patriarhiei.
In the beginning of the meeting, Vladyka Yuvenaly made a report on the results of execution of the decision of the Council of bishops on February 2, 2011 “On measures to preserve the memory of new martyrs, Confessors and all the innocent from the godless in the years of persecution victims.”
Heard reports on activities of Synodal departments and dioceses to perpetuate the memory of the new martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church. Bishop Balashikha Nikolay reported on the progress of the Moscow Patriarchate Publishers for the publication of brochures with the lives of the new martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church. Lukhovitskiy Bishop Peter spoke about the ongoing Moscow regional diocese work to perpetuate the memory of the new martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church and all the innocent victims in the years of persecution.
Chairman of the Synodal Department for relations with society and mass media Vladimir Legoida told about how the coverage of the feat of the new martyrs in the media. On behalf of the Chairman of the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Kliment of Kaluga and Borovsk, his assistant D. M. Volodihin did report prepared by the dioceses and publishers of books containing the spiritual legacy of martyrs, which passed peer review in the Publishing Council.
In conclusion a discussion was held on the work of the Council.
