November 23, 2018, on arrival in Kaliningrad, Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill visited the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, reports patriarhiei.
The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church brought to the Cathedral of Kaliningrad, one of the main shrines of the Crimea — the reliquary with the relics of the Holy Hierarch Luke (Voyno-Yasenetsky), Archbishop of Simferopol and Crimea. Kept in the Shrine of the Holy Trinity convent in Simferopol.
At the gates of the Cathedral the cortege arrived with a relic from Khrabrovo airport, was met by the Bishop Chernyakhovsky and Slavske Nicholas, the clergy and laity of the Kaliningrad Archdiocese.
The ark was installed in the center of the temple, after which his Holiness Patriarch Kirill celebrates the glorification and prayers of Saint Luke at his venerable relics.
Took part in the service by managing the Affairs of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga, Barsanuphius, Archbishop of Kaliningrad and the Baltic Seraphim, Bishop of Chernyakhovsky and Slavske Nicholas, the clergy of the Kaliningrad Archdiocese.
The Church was attended by: first Deputy Chairman — chief of staff of the Government of the Kaliningrad region A. B. Rodin, Deputy Plenipotentiary representative of RF President in the northwestern Federal district R. V. Balashov, Chairman of the Kaliningrad regional Duma M. E. Orhei, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation A. G. Yaroshuk.
During the service, also prayed the organizers of offering honest relics of St. Luke in the diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church: Chairman of the Board of Trustees of St. Andrew V. Yakunin, abbess of Holy Trinity convent of Simferopol abbess Eusebius (Thumb), representatives of the Fund of St. Andrew and Holy Trinity monastery.
At the conclusion of the prayer service his Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill addressed the worshippers with a word:
“Your Eminence! Dear fathers, mother abbess, brothers and sisters!
I warmly welcome you all and Express my special joy at the opportunity to re-enter under the arches of this Holy temple, to see him after all the work, which began in late 1996 and ended after 22 years, in the current year.
Are happy and that had the opportunity to bring the great sanctity of our land — the relics of St. Luke, who, being a doctor in his earthly life, so many were saved from death, was a distinguished surgeon, a wonderful scholar and person of deep faith, who were ordained, who then became Archbishop and many served to strengthen the Orthodox faith in our people. The Holy relics of St. Luke are traveling around the country, collecting thousands and thousands of people. And people is no coincidence: people bring this Saint of God their prayers for healing ailments personal and their relatives, and the Holy man as our faith meets us and brings healing, both spiritual and physical.
By his prayers may the Lord strengthen the faith of the inhabitants of this castle, our Kaliningrad, our homeland, strengthen the health of not only physical but also spiritual, because the spiritual power of the people depends on the welfare of the whole country.
