His Holiness Patriarch Kirill will visit Kogalym and Norilsk diocese

9 September 2018 Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill will visit the city of Kogalym (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug).

The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church made in Kogalym the great consecration of the Church of the Holy Martyr Barbara, was built at the expense of the charity Fund “LUKOIL”.

Also the Patriarch will learn about the development of diocesan life and will hold meetings with the leadership of the region.

On September 10-11 2018, after a trip to Kogalym, his Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill will visit Norilsk diocese.

    

“The Patriarch is the second time visiting this diocese. The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church will visit the city of Dudinka and the village of Khatanga, which is considered the most Northern settlement in Russia. In these remote places, the Patriarch will make divine service, let me give my blessing to the locals, including the indigenous peoples of the North”, — the head reported a Press-service of the Patriarch of Moscow and all Resolvement Alexander Volkov.

September 11, his Holiness Patriarch Kirill will perform the rite of the great consecration of the Church of the Holy new Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church in Norilsk, pledged during his primatial visit in 2015 and was built at the expense of the company “Norilsk Nickel”.

“The Primate of the Russian Church gives special attention to the development of our Northern dioceses located in the territory of the far North of the Arctic circle. Here the Church is actively pastoral, social, educational work. And it is very important to understand that while here, compared to dioceses in Central Russia, living a lot less people, the development of these small number of dioceses the congregation is a priority for our Church”, — said the head of the Patriarchal press service.
