“Spear of Destiny”, held in Etchmiadzin
Spear at the mother see of Holy Etchmiadzin has demonstrated in order to refute the rumors about its sale.
In the Armenian monastery of Etchmiadzin, located not far from Yerevan, on display believers put the Spear of Longinus, also called the “Spear of Destiny” and “Spear of Christ”, reports “Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine”.
With the blessing of the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, the relic will remain in the mother see of Etchmiadzin to the evening service.

It is believed that this is the spear of the Roman soldier Longinus stabbed in the upper quadrant of Jesus, crucified on the Cross.
In many churches of the world kept a few relics that are considered the spear of Longinus, or fragment thereof. To establish the age, the most appropriate gospel time, scientists conducted the examination.
Armenian spear is in the country since the XIII century. Until that Spear was in regardant, where it was brought, as is believed, by the Apostle Thaddeus.
