Crisis centre for women is in the Church of the Holy virgin in the village of pivovarikha
Metropolitan Irkutsk and Angarsk Vadim consecrated a new Church crisis center for women. It is in the Church of the Holy virgin in the village of pivovarikha, Irkutsk region. The center will be able to happily ever after more than 40 women in a crisis situation. Today it has already taken four women with children. The center has a medical office which will provide primary care paramedic and a pediatrician, said Diakoniai.
“Initially, we planned to build a shelter for orphans, but in the Irkutsk region children left without parental care were more likely to pick up in foster care. In addition, Patriarch Kirill urged to pay attention to women in a crisis situation, – said the head of the orphanage, the head of the Department of charity of the diocese of Irkutsk Archpriest Alexander Vasilenko. – We also have a humanitarian warehouse, outdoor, with the support of the Synodal Department for charity. All of these factors came together and we decided to open a house of mercy for women with children in a crisis situation.”

The construction of the crisis center for moms began in 2009. Now the orphanage is a three storey building at the Church of the Holy virgin with a total area of 4 thousand square meters. There are 4 accommodation blocks, each of which has a bedroom for four, living room, bathroom, utility room. In addition, the center has a dining room, a gym, a medical unit and large recreation room. The center is equipped with sewing workshop, will soon be opening a bakery.

In the Orthodox shelter for mothers women in a difficult situation will be able to live from month to six months. During the stay in the centre, women will be provided with social, medical and psychological assistance. The center will bring together experts in social work, doctors and psychologists.

There are at a crisis center and a medical office. It was opened in the framework of the agreement between the Irkutsk diocese and the regional Ministry of health. This medical item is assigned to the Irkutsk regional hospital. In it, a paramedic and a pediatrician will conduct initial medical examination and, if necessary, to send women and children in the Irkutsk regional hospital for further treatment.
We will remind, earlier this year at a crisis center in the village of pivovarikha staff members of the Synodal Department for charity held a training seminar for priests, social workers and nurses to assist the needy.
Today in the Russian Orthodox Church has over 50 shelters for women with children, they are located all over the country from Kaliningrad to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Also Russia has more than 160 Church’s humanitarian aid.
