More than 100 exhibits and relics of XVIII – XIX centuries will see visitors to the exhibition, which takes place in the framework of the celebration 1030-anniversary of the Baptism of Kievan Rus ‘ and the 30th anniversary of the revival of monastic life in Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, according to Information-enlightenment Department of the UOC with the link to the site of the monastery.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Vicar of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Metropolitan Vyshgorod and Chernobyl Paul.
In particular, the exhibition, which takes place in a side chapel of the assumption Cathedral of the Lavra presented the exhibits from the Museum collections of the National Kiev-Pechersk historic-cultural preserve, historical records and icons of XVIII-XIX centuries, things of the wide use belonging to the pilgrims of the nineteenth century, as well as items from the personal collections of bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
In day of memory of the monk Antonii of Pechersk, July 23, at 9:30 the exhibition will be visited by the Dean of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Archimandrite Anthony and head of research of the Department of history and archaeology of the National Kyiv-Pechersk reserve Extreme Constantine, which will give answers to all the questions visitors of the exhibition and representatives of the media.
Recall that in the Refectory of Saint Anthony and Theodosius of the caves also opened a photo exhibition “the way of the cross monastery”.
