In Kiev will establish a monument to Ilya Muromets created using a 3D printer

Monument of Ilya Muromets are made by using latest technology.

In Kiev on the Trukhanov island will establish a monument to hero of Kievan Rus, Ilya Muromets.

This was announced on his official page in Facebook the mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko, also posting a video that illustrates the technology to create the sculpture.

“I shouldn’t have to argue whether we need a monument to the Murom or not, – wrote the mayor. – Ilya Muromets, who, according to legend, was born near Chernigov, served Prince Vladimir of Kiev guarded and buried in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, this is our hero, it is our history. <…> Therefore, the Muromets will stand in Kiev, on the territory of Trukhanov island, where once housed the retinue of Prince Vladimir.”

The monument is made by a unique technique developed by the artist Vladimir Crane. First part for the forms of sculptures made with a 3D printer and then cast in brosna. The height of the monument is 11 meters. To create an image of the hero posed the deserved master of sports of Ukraine Vasyl Virastyuk.

Sculpture plan to soon submit to the public. The monument will be installed in the Park “Murom”.

The saints Elijah of Murom was canonized in 1643 in number 69 of devotees of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
