Lutsky paratroopers prayed at the Holy Ilyinsky temple on the Day of the airborne assault troops.

On 2 August, the day when the Orthodox Church honors the memory of St. prophet Elijah, the parishioners of St. Elias Church of the UOC in the city of Lutsk met his feast day, together with soldiers of the Ukrainian airborne troops. About it the correspondent of the SPM.

The prophet Elijah is considered the official patron Saint of paratroopers, and in this parish traditionally on this day gather those who have served or are now serving in the airborne troops – including the Abbot of the temple Archpriest Nikolay Gomenyuk.

At the temple in honor of the holiday raised the flag with the inscription “Holy L’s prophecy, pray for us.” Parishioners and soldiers were greeted by the Manager of the Volyn eparchy of the UOC Bishop of Volyn and Lutsk Nathanael, who led the day mass service at the Holy temple Ilyinsky.
