In MDA hosts the international Symposium “the Natural conditions of the construction and preservation of the churches of Orthodox Russia”

    

14 November 2018 at the Small hall of the Moscow theological Academy has opened the seventh international scientific and practical Symposium “the Natural conditions of the construction and preservation of the churches of Orthodox Russia”. The Symposium is regularly held at the Moscow theological Academy and on the problems of the restoration of the heritage of the Church, according to patriarhiei.

Scientific restoration is an important direction in the activities of the Church. In this regard, in the dioceses introduced the position of diocesan drevlehranilische — persons responsible for the inspection of frescoes, paintings and icons restoration of Church buildings. The aim of the Symposium is to share the achievements in these areas in order to successfully apply them in their own dioceses.

The topics of the presentations concern the results of the work in the field of engineering-geological features of objects, restoration and reconstruction of specific structures. Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra — the largest facility of applying advances in the field of restoration.

The Symposium was opened by the Deputy Director of the Patriarchal architectural-restoration center Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra Vladimir Dmitriev. Then with a salutatory word to participants addressed rector of the Moscow theological Academy on educational work of the priest Paul Lizgunova and assistant vicar of the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra on the issues of preservation and use of cultural heritage and cooperation with UNESCO S. A. Anokhin.

The organizers of the Symposium “the Natural conditions of the construction and preservation of the churches of Orthodox Russia” was made by the Patriarchal architectural-restoration center Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra, Moscow theological Academy, the Scientific Council of Russian Academy of Sciences on problems of Geoecology, engineering Geology and hydrogeology, Scientific-methodical Council for the protection and preservation of cultural heritage under the Ministry of culture of the Russian Federation, Federal state unitary enterprise “Central scientific restoration design workshops” by the Ministry of culture of the Russian Federation, Russian state geological prospecting University, Ministry of education and science of the Russian Federation.

The organizing Committee of the Symposium included the Metropolitan of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas Georgy, the rector of the Moscow theological Academy Archbishop Vereysky Ambrose, Director of the Patriarchal architectural-restoration center S. V. Demidov, Deputy Director of the Patriarchal architectural-restoration center, Professor of Russian state geological prospecting University named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze, doctor of geological-mineralogical Sciences Vladimir Dmitriev, assistant to the Chairman of the Synodal Department for monasteries and monasticism, assistant to the vicar of the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra on the issues of preservation and use of cultural heritage and cooperation with UNESCO Anokhin S.
