IN NORTH KOREA, THE PASTOR SENTENCED TO PENAL SERVITUDE

North Korea continues to justify its reputation as one of the most brutal persecutors of Christians. The Supreme court of this country sentenced a canadian pastor to life in prison on charges of “crimes against the state.” The court sentenced the pastor lim Hyun-soo after the trial, which lasted 90 minutes.

The pastor is now 60, and he heads the Korean Presbyterian Church in Toronto, Canada. According to relatives, lim Hyun-soo over a hundred visits to North Korea, where he maintained a home for the elderly, a nursery and an orphanage. He was arrested in February and accused of trying to use religion to the detriment of the state. Prosecutors asked for the death penalty.
