12 Sep 2018 with the participation of specialists of the Fund of support of the Humanities, “My history” and the Patriarchal Council for culture in the Museum – reserve “Chersonese” in collaboration with the Institute of archaeology of RAS Crimea and Simferopol and Crimean diocese took place opening of International scientific conference “III St. Vladimir’s” read to 1030 anniversary of the baptism of Rus.
During the conference’s first day has been declared the new scientific oktrytie. So, for example, proposed the hypothesis that the Venerable Anthony of the Kiev-Pechersk was a translator of Greek of the life of Euthymios the Great was personally in the Holy land, where he was able to see his grave. Thus in the scientific revolution, a new most ancient Russian life, Dating from the mid 11th century. This is the biggest scientific discovery in this field for the last time.
In the framework of the program of conference includes more than 3 dozen performances scholars in various fields relating to the history of Ancient Chersonesos ancient monuments on its territory, the art of Byzantium, Ancient Rus and the black sea, treasures and archaeological work and studies in the updated Museum complex, temple architecture and decorative arts, and many others.
Wide coverage of topics corresponds to the level and status of experts. And that scientists, researchers, custodians of the leading scientific institutions of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Zagreb (Croatia), Simferopol, St Andrews (Scotland), Sevastopol, Yekaterinburg, etc. Their reports was prepared by the staff of the State Russian Museum, State Hermitage Museum, Moscow state University. M. V. Lomonosov, Institute of archaeology of the Crimea, Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of universal history Russian Academy of Sciences, University of Zagreb, State Museum of Oriental art, State Museum-reserve “Chersonese”, the Moscow theological Academy, the Moscow Kremlin Museums, the Russian state humanitarian University, St. Andrews University, Scotland, the Russian Institute of art history.
The conference is held in a specially designed educational activities lectures, which was implemented in the framework of a large-scale project of the renovation of the Museum space “the Historical Park of Tauric Chersonesos”, implemented by the Foundation “My story” under the auspices of the Patriarchal Council for culture.
