At the art Museum of Zaporozhye was held the exhibition of modern Ukrainian icon-painting. This is the website of Zaporizhia diocese.

The event was held in the framework of the festival of the Orthodox communion “Orthodays.ZP”. Opening the exhibition, the Metropolitan of Zaporizhia and Melitopol Luka said that not every person can deal with the iconography, even if he had the necessary skills of the artist.

“A real painter may be the only one who can icon to convey the infinity of God’s world, our world, the infinity of God, told the Bishop Luka. – If this is not done, the icon will not work. Maybe just a beautiful image, but not the icon. The icon, as we know from the decision of the Seventh Ecumenical Council, should help to move from image to prototype. A little knowledge of some ecclesiastical and theological canons”.

“Orthodays.ZP” is a festival of Orthodox culture in Zaporozhye, organized by the Zaporizhia diocese of the UOC. The event aims to discover the talents and opportunities that God gave to each person.
