An unusual icon of the mother of God “Seroprevalence” donated to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. The icon was painted by blessing of Metropolitan Kirill of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye sisters of St. Alexander Nevsky Novo-Tikhvin monastery. She went to Ukraine and will soon be presented to the Metropolitan of Kiev and all Ukraine Onuphrius, reports a press-service of the Yekaterinburg diocese. All faithful of the Russian Church deeply sympathize with their Orthodox brethren in Ukraine, and this gift is a small contribution, expressing the prayerful support of the Ukrainian Church.
– Today is the day of our liability, and the time at which we enter is our responsibility, therefore, a special prayer for the canonical Orthodox Church of Ukraine headed by Metropolitan Onufry – it should be a very important and personal, – said the Metropolitan of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye Kirill over the Sunday Liturgy in Sergiev Elisabeth Church on September 16. – Those who consider themselves Orthodox man, who considers himself a believing Russian person today needs to pray not only in Church but also at home; when he prays for his the family, he needs to remember and those who are in particular need of this prayer support. We will remember this always and to understand that the enemy of mankind seeks to divide all, that everyone was against each other, and our Lord Jesus Christ said to his disciples: “I Want all of you were United”. We should be United today, because all that leads to separation, it’s all from evil. All that said, we were together, we were United in Christ Jesus our Lord is the voice of the Church is the voice of God.
Note that “Seroprevalence” is one of the rare images of the virgin Mary. On it the mother of God is depicted without the infant Jesus, praying, with a scroll in hand. Scroll to chosen the appropriate inscription: “the Lord o my, Lord, bless the people of the world.” Before this image in particular pray for the establishment of peace and the affirmation of love and unity.
We believe that through the prayers of the blessed virgin, of petitioner of the world, the Lord will have mercy on the long-suffering Ukrainian land and the Church – say the sisters of the monastery.
