In the one-hundredth anniversary of the execution of the Royal family, the Primate of Russian Church celebrates divine Liturgy in front of the Church on the Blood

    

In the night from 16 to 17 July 2018, the one hundredth anniversary of the execution of the Royal family, his Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill celebrated the divine Liturgy on the platform in front of the Church on Blood in honour of All saints resplendent in the Russian land in Ekaterinburg, reports patriarhiei. The platform was installed in front of the gate of the lower temple, where the “Royal room” — a chapel in honour of the Holy Royal martyrs, erected on the site of the murder of the Royal family.

Worship in the place of the martyrdom of the Holy Royal martyrs and their faithful servants was the culmination of the king’s days in the Ekaterinburg Archdiocese, dedicated to the centennial of the tragic events. Holy Royal martyrs: Tsar Nicholas Alexandrovich, Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, Tsesarevich Alexis, Grand duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia was martyred 100 years ago, in the night from 16 to 17 July 1918 in the basement of the Ipatiev house. In 2000-2003 on the site of the demolished in 1977 the Ipatiev house was built a Temple-monument on Blood.

Attending the service were: the Plenipotentiary of the President in the Ural Federal district N. N. Tsukanov; the Governor of the Sverdlovsk region Yevgeny kuivashev, Chairman of Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on development of civil society, public and religious associations, S. A. Gavrilov; Chairman of Legislative Assembly of Sverdlovsk region L. V. Babushkina; Chairman of the Imperial Orthodox Palestinian society Sergei Stepashin; Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation “Elisabeth-sergievskoe educational society” A. V. Gromov; the administration of the Sverdlovsk region and the city of Yekaterinburg, representatives of the Romanov dynasty: the Grand Duchess M. V. Romanova, O. N. Kulikovskaya-Romanova, P. E. Kulikovsky-Romanov, L. A. Kulikovskaya-Romanova.

Praying at the Liturgy were the inhabitants of Yekaterinburg and the numerous pilgrims who arrived to the Ural capital from different regions of Russia and foreign countries — Azerbaijan, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, great Britain, Germany, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Lithuania, Moldova, New Zealand, Serbia, USA, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, France, Estonia, South Korea, Japan. Near the Church was organized a camp for food and rest of pilgrims.

    

The liturgical chants were performed by the choir of the clergy of the diocese of Yekaterinburg (Regent — priest Alex Rusin) and the Bishop’s choir of Holy Trinity Cathedral of Yekaterinburg (Regent — M. Yu. Litvinenko).

Live broadcast of the Patriarchal worship, was on the Soyuz TV channel and on the portal patriarhiei. Numerous believers was watching the broadcast on large screens installed on Royal street next to the Church on spilled Blood.

After the litany of fervent supplication, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church prayed for peace in Ukraine.

In Requiem Ektenia included the petition: “again we pray for the repose of the souls of the departed servants of God in this place of the murdered John, Alexis, Anna, and all the cruel years of persecution from the ungodly slain; in the camps, in prison and in chains from wounds, disease and famine of the deceased; in bitter work, and all martyred in the confessional feat labored and hedgehog prostatica them every transgression, both voluntary and involuntary”.

Before the communion of the laity, his Holiness Patriarch Kirill addressed the worshippers with a primatial homily.

His Holiness donated to the Temple on the Blood external cross to the other temples of the Ekaterinburg diocese — 15 altar of the Gospels.

    

After the divine Liturgy his Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill led the traditional Royal procession from the place of the martyrdom of the Holy Royal martyrs and their faithful servants to the monastery of the Holy Royal martyrs in the Ganina Yama tract (distance 21 km). The route of the procession: St. Tsar Tolmachyova street — Lenin Ave. — St. Tatishcheva street — Bebel — str Technical Rusetskaya street — Railway Park — village Shuvakish — tract Ganina Yama.
