The Verkhovna Rada Of Ukraine
The authors of the bill propose to introduce criminal liability for the dissemination of ideas about the “exceptional status of the Moscow Orthodoxy.”
The Verkhovna Rada registered a bill № 9139, which provides for the introduction of criminal responsibility for propaganda of the “Russian world”. About it reports “112 Ukraine”.
“Current Ukrainian legislation contains a prohibition of only the Communist and national socialist regimes, without paying attention to progressive today, the idea of “Russian world”, aimed at including the elimination of independence of Ukraine”, – stated in the explanatory Memorandum.
Offer to legislate the concept of “Russian world” and to establish what actions lead to the promotion of this idea:
action signs of separatism, in particular, calls for levies under the slogan of accession to the Russian Federation;
justification of the military aggression “the protection of Russian and Russian-speaking population”;
spread the idea of unification of the Ukrainian, Belarusian and Russian peoples;
the spread of the idea of self-sufficiency and uniqueness of a Russian or Slavic civilization;
the exaltation until the formation of the cult of persons-leaders of the Russian Federation;
spread the idea about the exceptional status of the Moscow Orthodox Church.
For such acts in the Criminal code it is proposed to introduce responsibility in the form of restriction or deprivation of liberty for a term up to 5 years with confiscation of property or without. If the violation was committed by a representative of the authorities or somebody with the media, the punishment will be from 5 to 10 years in prison.
It is expected that the candidate or the deputies will not be registered if it promoted the “Russian world” and refers to the political party that did it.
