From 7 to 10 September 2018 Bishop Nestor of Korsun was on an archpastoral visit in the South of Spain, in the Costa Del Sol (“Sunny coast”), reports patriarhiei.
On Sunday, September 9, Bishop Nestor celebrated the divine Liturgy in the ascension Cathedral in the town of Marbella, co-served by Archpriest Dimitry Osipenko and deacon Igor Budnik.
An important part of his pastoral visit events for the official opening of the construction site at the future site of the temple complex of ascension parish in the town of Estepona. September 10, Vladyka served a moleben for the start of construction and consecrated the worship cross. In a speech after the prayer service, Bishop Nestor addressed with warm words of gratitude to mayor Jose Maria Garcia Urbano, which has the full support of the Orthodox parish and has allocated a vast land for a new temple (5850 sq. m): long-term lease of 75 years was designed on a Pro Bono basis.
The Archpastor addressed words of gratitude and Fund managers “Orthodox initiative”, assumed the expenses for the construction of the temple complex, as well as architects Miguel and Diego Tobal architectural Bureau Tobal Arquitectos and construction companies Jamena.
Vladika Nestor called down God’s blessing on the project participants and wished them strength, that they could fulfill his good intention, and to complete work by the end of 2019.
